Designer Princess Maja von Hohenzollern was honored with the PETA VEGAN AWARD HOMEWARE 2024 award in the «Best Bathroom» category.

Princess Maja von Hohenzollern is considered a «Vegan Pioneer» and has been designing her various collections such as carpets, furniture, children’s furniture, home decoration, household products and even modular houses made from innovative materials that are sustainable and free from animal suffering.

Princess Maja von Hohenzollern
She was one of the first designers in the world to conceive and design vegan home products, such as the world’s first vegan bathroom fittings collection, the first vegan-certified carpet collection, the first vegan-certified household products, etc.

With a keen sense for the needs of end customers, she realizes the current zeitgeist in her designs in an unmistakable way by combining ethics, style and functionality in her products.

She creates products that look luxurious and are still ecological. To this end, it is constantly searching the world for innovative materials and sustainable production methods.

Princess Maja von Hohenzollern was honored with the PETA VEGAN AWARD HOMEWARE 2024

«I don’t want animals to be exploited, mistreated or killed in any way for my home products. That’s why I’m always working with new materials and look for these and new production methods worldwide to implement them in my products.

Years ago, it was not easy to convince retailers and companies of this vision. Many have recognized the changing zeitgeist and the new ethical demands of end customers very late. There is often a lack of analytical reference to the target group and a feeling for how younger generations tick and live today.

If entrepreneurs only react when everyone else does and jump on the bandwagon too late, then important market potential has usually already been lost and siphoned off by more innovative companies.

I am therefore delighted to receive this award and would like to thank all my partners who have successfully realized my vegan home collections with me.
Great Thanks to PETA for honoring my work as a designer in this way and for confirming to all of us, that it is worth taking bold and new paths in design.“

Princess Maja von Hohenzollern

Princess Maja is vegan herself and a dedicated animal welfare activist. She lives with 20 adopted pets, that she all has rescued from killing shelters and the street.

PETA Germany presented this award for HOMEWARE for the first time in 2024 and honored 13 winning products from a wide range of areas.

These range from vegan bathroom fittings & accessories to vegan wall paint, vegan bed linen and vegan furniture.

PETA thus recognizes the growing range of vegan home products.

No animal products such as leather, wool, down, fur or silk were used in the production, but instead plant-based and in some cases innovative materials.

In addition to artificial leather and recycled polyester wadding, these include bamboo, lyocell and kapok fibers.
