«Nadel» Nadège Michel is really a painter of emotion.
She was born in Lorraine in 1969 and her artistic creation comes from her personal way to feel life.
There are talents which are revealed in the nights and at dawn. Nadège Michel is one of them. It’s the consuming passion of painting that is absorbed.
The story begins in Marseille where, alongside her job as a cultural animator, she trained in drawing and the charcoal technique. Then her route brings her to Grenoble. It is where that she learned about watercolor, a discipline that taught her to master light. But, if it is a founding act, a trigger for her vocation, it is her meeting with Archiguille.
In 1995, as part of her professional activities, Nadège managed, in Verbier, the exhibition of the painter of the «Transfiguration» which Ma
And everything accelerates. Emulation is created around her work. Her reputation quickly crossed borders, she obtained the mention of excellence at the Franco-Chinese contemporary art center in Paris.
Nadège is approached by Parisian, Canadian and Swiss galleries … and exhibits in luxury hotel residences, such as the Hilton, Carlton, Marriott …
In 2018 she created Nadelian Art: digital technique based on an original and unique painting or a photographic work.
Nadège works with abstract expressionism, an emotional painting, immediate, imbued with a certain mysticism. Her eyes are sharp. It could be in the eye that the great mystery of nature is hidden.
It is the feeling. And in the glow of her pupil is exposed a soul that has not yet said everything.
You have been named as the painter of emotion. What does it mean?
I think there are untold stories, epic breaths carried by the evanescence of everything, vaporous moments that upset everything. And you can read it in my painting;
It is a desire to restore the world in dream colors, to let yourself be captivated by human nature and be fascinated by all its emotions.
Your experience in the exhibition of the painter of «Transformation» made you also have a transformation of your life. Can you tell me about what happened?
In 1995, I held the position of cultural animator in Verbier (Switzerland); I managed the exhibition of the painter François ARCHIGUILLE (world renowned artist) who defined his art by the term of «transfiguration».
This exhibition is a founding act, a trigger for my artistic vocation.
After this exhibition, all began to develop really quickly.
What happened to be so successful and what did you do to exhibit your artwork in the most important places?
I took up painting passionately and diligently and everything accelerated …
An emulation was created around my work, I was approached by Parisian, Canadian and Swiss galleries and I exhibited at the breasts of luxury hotel residences.
In 2015, I obtained the mention of excellence at the Franco-Chinese contemporary art center in Paris.
What happened to be so successful and what did you do to exhibit your artwork in the most important places?
My work consisted in presenting my creations to art professionals and luxury hotel residences with the ability to give me objective feedback regarding the reception of the public.
From my first exhibitions, visitors were seduced by my artistic work.
You have created your own style: Nadelian art. What does it consist of?
In 2018 I created Nadelian art: digital technique which consists firstly in creating an original painting on canvas or a photographic work and then in a second time to sublimate this work by a digital work which allows me to extend my first aspiration.
You work in the abstract style. Do you think people are prepared to understand it?
I express myself through an abstract expressionism, an emotional painting, immediate imbued with a certain mysticism.
A few moments are enough for attentive glances to detect in my works a share of imagination of which each one holds an end.
What is the value that you have added to the abstract art?
It is always difficult to judge your own work …
From a quote from a lover of writing and art (Gaston MERCIER):
«… His works propel towards» immensities «where one feels fragile but which one may want to adopt for refuge … The colors are powerful, delicate, ethereal … choreographically harmonious, moving … an art close to humans ,… To contemplate at the risk of wanting to get lost ”
How do you see the future of the art and the artists? There are a lot of great artists but they don’t arrive to the right public. Why?
Art is a human expression that evolves from generation to generation as cultural, social and technological events unfold. This implies that each artist has the possibility, based on the past, the present moment and the future, to concretize his deep aspirations and serve emotions in order to reinvent the art of tomorrow. The same is true for broadcasters of artistic expressions.
And finally, what is your advice for all the young artists that have their dreams to be famous and get success?
I think that expressing yourself in the art world is already an achievement in itself and that meeting public recognition is the ultimate reward that could be compared to «The icing on the cake».
So artists of all stripes, work a lot and enjoy yourself and don’t be afraid to put yourself in danger.
