On September 3, 2013 Massimo Giordano inaugurates the new season of the Vienna State Opera as Alfredo in “La traviata”. Among the most significant events of 2013-2014, two major debuts: Maurice of Saxony in a new production of “Adriana Lecouvreur” with Angela Gheorghiu in Vienna and the Chevalier Des Grieux in “Manon Lescaut” at the Easter Festival in Baden Baden, under the direction of Sir Simon Rattle at the Berlin Philharmonic.

Last August 24 I had the pleasure of being invited to the concert given by the great Italian tenor Massimo Giordano, accompanied by the soprano Ester Kandinova and the pianist Nelson Calzi.
Ester Kandinova was born in St. Petersburg. Music was part of her life since childhood. Ester started singing at the age of four. The love for music was everywhere: as a little girl, she loved to sing along with her favorite cartoon characters. And a year later, her parents decided to take her to music school. But since singing lessons started later, she first began taking piano lessons. Then she began her studies at a music lyceum in the faculty of choral conducting.
After her succesful studies in the lyceum, Ester joins Saint-Petersburg Conservatory of Rimskiy-Korsakov and ends with a red diploma.
Her excellent vocal skills and beautiful personal appearance, ability to perform on stage despite young age, professionalism, have won the audience, leaving pleasant impressions about talent and singing.
