I had the pleasure to meet Abdelfattah Bellali in Paris through our common friend the artist Raouf Meftah.

It was an extraordinary meeting where I enjoyed his experiences in the world of art and he shared with me his new ideas about the way to develop the future  events and his own evolution.

A Moroccan, originally from Marrakesh, a city of civilization and art, Abdelfattah Bellali (1971) is an inspired visual artist seeking a middle ground between scientific research and creativity. As a result, his work perfectly combines scientific elements with artistic ones, attempting a symbiosis of the arts, philosophy, and the sciences.

In our meeting in the famous La Durée

He is a self-taught artist, who at the same time knows how to manage a variety of materials for the construction of his works. He prefers the warm colors of oil that he usually mixes with small wooden sculptures. Art, according to the artist, is the peace and harmony of nature.
He has exhibited in various cities of Morocco.

You have been defined as a visual artist who searches between the world of science and creativity.

Could you explain what this means?

When we observe the human kind., we would notice the main desire of humanity is the consistency of development. By searching through the shifts in human civilisation we would discover that Art was the core of communicating the methods and secrets of developments especially in terms of passing since from Janaration to the next one. As an example of that , Embalming as a science of preserving human remains by treating them to forestall decomposition and placing them in Pottery, cofens, the methods was  saved by Pharaohs  through simbols which made Tutankhamun emortal.

You are an artist who has spent a lot of time searching for the origin and evolution of signs. What did you find about them and how did you apply it to your works?

Signs and simbles are the origin of alphabets used today..  I was fascinated by them and incorporated then in signature of my art work.

What inspires you the most when you create?

Many things surrounding me at a time but all connected to love and light.. beauty of places , children in general,  human behavior bravery and fear, kindness , etc. In summary I feel connected to everything arround me and I do express it in artistic way.

The evolution of Humanity is something you reflect in all your works. Why are you so interested in it and what has this evolution contributed to your art?

Because human beings contradictions  makes humanity abviouas.. we would see a fire fighter kill himself to save a stranger from fire and another human kill his own mother or friend .. This is what highlights humanity and good deeds.. As artist I think art has a role in imbracing good behavior and encouraging the being in humanity.

How do you see the development of art in general and, more specifically, in your country?

It’s going on but in a slow motion.. Developing countries in general lack the prioritisation of Art in their strategic plan, yet people of such countries work in different manars to support various art.

Tell us about your past exhibitions and the ones you are planning?

I had exhibited 10 times in year 2022 , 7 of which in group exhibitions and rest as solo exhibitions..  The forgone year my art intered a new dimension by means of creativity  and techniques as I used ways and means for my creation.

What do you think about the value of art?

Art is price less, however , it is sadly de-valued, due to lack of understanding the moniteral value added or a clear connection between art and  social, health, political and economical development of countries.

How do you see the art world in the future?

Art will take its position in the human life eventually, slowly its reaching out but steadily, there is no sintific research on that, but from my experience I  observed many changes in places and families  just by being introduced to art in many different ways,  such as, having a young artist born between then. The light of art cannot be coverd like the sun shine on earth cannot be denied.

What are your plans for the next few years?

I have two main directions that I plan to approach one is to  help children development through art and the other one I would call «Noor» through which I would want to imbrace all human actions and good behavior through art.
