Dalí today: an experience in Monte-Carlo
In Monte-Carlo, Salvador Dalí takes up residence at the heart of Mareterra
When art is experienced differently
In Monte-Carlo, modern and contemporary art finds a new territory for expression. From December 22, 2025 to March 22, 2026, Dalí Universe and Lart Universe inaugurated a large-scale exhibition sale within Mareterra, at 12 Quai du Petit Portier. An ephemeral venue, but a lasting ambition: to bring art closer to the public by offering a sensitive, direct, and resolutely contemporary experience.

Conceived as far more than a traditional gallery, this initiative is part of the international Art to be Lived format. Here, art is not contemplated from a distance: it is encountered, shared, and lived. Visitors are invited to wander freely through a 300-square-meter space, designed as a place of dialogue between artworks, artists, and audiences.
A demanding selection between modernity and contemporary creation
The exhibition-sale itinerary brings together a rigorously curated selection of modern and contemporary works. Original and significant pieces engage in dialogue, combining major historical figures and today’s artists.
At the heart of this proposal, particular emphasis is placed on contemporary artist Patrick Rubinstein, whose work explores movement, perception, and the transformation of the gaze.
But it is indeed Salvador Dalí who constitutes the central and symbolic axis of the gallery.
Salvador Dalí, a central and timeless figure
A vast section is dedicated to the master of Surrealism, an essential figure of the 20th century and an artist whose influence extends far beyond the field of art history.
The exhibition presents a remarkable selection of his works, among which stands out the important oil on canvas Twist en el studio de Velázquez (1962), accompanied by a group of original sculptures emblematic of his universe.
Through this itinerary, the public is invited to discover the richness of Dalí’s imagination: his symbolic language, his obsessions, his humor, but also his profound exploration of the unconscious. Far from a fixed museum hanging, the scenography favors a lively and accessible approach, encouraging a direct relationship with the works.
“This gallery offers an accessible and sensitive encounter with the work of Salvador Dalí, as well as with other contemporary artists such as Patrick Rubinstein, in an ephemeral format that invites people to experience art differently,” explains Sylvie Thévenoz, exhibition manager.
An open, fluid, and contemporary experience
Intended for a wide audience art lovers, collectors, professionals, or simply the curious the gallery claims an inclusive approach, without renouncing artistic rigor.
Mediation, proximity to the works, and freedom of movement create a fluid context, in keeping with contemporary expectations. Here, modern and contemporary art is discovered without intimidation, but with rigor and respect for the works.
This vision responds to a profound evolution in cultural practices: the need for hybrid places that are at once aesthetic, educational, and experiential.
Lart Universe and Dalí Universe, two international players
At the origin of the project is Lart Universe, an international group committed to the promotion of modern and contemporary art, which for many years has worked toward the dissemination of established and emerging artists on a global scale.
The project is developed in collaboration with Dalí Universe, founded by Beniamino Levi, an international reference for the study, promotion, and dissemination of the work of Salvador Dalí, notably in the sculptural and lithographic fields. The group holds numerous rights to the artist’s sculptural works and carries out significant research and contextualization work.
Dalí Universe has organized more than 130 exhibitions worldwide and welcomed over 12 million visitors, from Berlin to Shanghai, from Vienna to Singapore, as well as many Italian cities. Two permanent museums, in Bruges and Paris, are also dedicated to the master of Surrealism.
In Monte-Carlo, this new exhibition-sale fits into this international dynamic, while offering a renewed reading of Dalí’s work and contemporary creation.
An invitation to experience art differently, at the heart of a place where the Mediterranean meets the imagination.
